THERAPY FOR WOMEN IN CALIFORNIA

Your life has changed.

It makes sense that you have, too.

Your children need you differently. Your parents may need you more, or they may be gone. Your relationships have changed. Your body is doing things nobody adequately warned you about.

And somewhere between taking care of everyone else and keeping life moving, you’ve started wondering:

Where am I in all of this?

SOMETHING CAN BE WRONG. OR NOTHING HAS TO BE.

You don’t have to prove that your life is bad enough to want something to change.

Maybe something really is wrong. You’re grieving. Your relationship is hurting. Your family needs more from you than you have left to give. Your body has changed. Something you counted on has fallen apart.

Or maybe there’s a lot about your life that you love, and you still feel restless, anxious, lonely, or unsure of yourself.

Both are reason enough to have somewhere that is yours. Therapy gives you space to understand what’s happening, what you need, and what you want to do with what comes next.

WHAT MIGHT BE TRUE FOR YOU

01. I’m carrying too much.

You’ve become the person who handles things, often before anyone else realizes they need handling. After a while, it gets hard to tell what you actually want to carry from what you’ve simply gotten used to carrying.

CAREGIVING + THE MENTAL LOAD →

02. I don’t know who I am anymore.

Your relationships, roles, body, and priorities have changed over the years. Some things still fit. Others don’t quite feel like you anymore. Therapy can be a place to get reacquainted with who you are now.

MIDLIFE + IDENTITY →

03. I know the pattern. I just keep ending up in it.

You recognize the people-pleasing, guilt, over-explaining, difficult family dynamics, or relationships that leave you questioning yourself. We can look at what keeps pulling you back into your usual role.

RELATIONSHIP PATTERNS →

MIDLIFE + PERIMENOPAUSE + MENOPAUSE

Your body is part of the conversation.

Perimenopause and menopause can affect far more than your body. Changes in mood, anxiety, sleep, energy, concentration, and even the way you experience yourself can all be part of the picture — and many women don’t realize how connected these changes can be.

Hormones don’t have to become the explanation for everything you’re experiencing. But they can be an important piece of what’s happening, alongside your relationships, history, stress, patterns, nervous system, and the rest of your life.

We can pay attention to all of it.

MIND · BODY · INNER LIFE

There are other ways of knowing yourself.

You notice what happens in your body around certain people. You know which conversations leave you depleted. You can feel when you’ve agreed to something you didn’t actually want.

That information is worth paying attention to.

My work makes room for thought, emotion, physical experience, intuition, and meaning without making any of it more mystical than it needs to be.

MEET JEN

Therapy with someone who will actually talk to you.

I’m active in the therapy room. I’ll ask questions, share what I’m noticing, help you make connections, and tell you when I think you’re carrying something that may not actually belong to you.

My approach brings evidence-based therapy together with mindfulness, nervous-system awareness, and attention to how your experiences show up in your body.

I’m active in the therapy room. I’ll ask questions, share what I’m noticing, help you make connections, and tell you when I think you’re carrying something that may not actually belong to you. And yes, we’ll probably laugh sometimes. You’re still a person while we’re talking about difficult things.

HOW I WORK

What if what you’re really looking for is peace?

The kind of peace that comes from feeling more grounded in yourself. Recognizing your patterns without automatically falling into them. Knowing what’s yours to carry and what isn’t. Trusting your own judgment. Being able to stay connected to yourself even when relationships change, life takes an unexpected turn, or things simply feel hard.

After almost 30 years as a therapist, I’ve come to believe that meaningful change often looks quieter than we expect. More clarity. More trust in yourself. More room to make choices instead of simply reacting. And a greater sense that the life you’re living actually feels like your own.

HER TURN

This isn’t about becoming someone completely different.

The woman you are now may want different things than the woman you were ten or twenty years ago. Some priorities have stayed the same. Others haven’t.

What you want from your relationships, work, time, and yourself is allowed to evolve as your life does.

You don’t have to know what comes next to start paying attention to what’s here now.

This stays very close to Jennifer’s own description of Her Turn as curiosity about the woman you are now and the woman you’re becoming.

You may not have words for it yet.

You might just know that something feels different- in your relationships, your body, your mood, or the way you’re moving through your life.

You don’t have to have it figured out before you come to therapy. That’s enough of a place to start.
